Understanding Role Conflicts in RACI Contracts
These conflicts apply to RACI Contracts.
Role conflicts occur when participants select incompatible roles for the same activity. These conflicts must be resolved to finalize the work.
Common Conflicts (RACI Contract)
1. No Accountable
- Problem: Every activity needs an Accountable role.
- Resolution: At least one participant must select Accountable.
2. Too Many Accountable
- Problem: Only one person should be accountable for an activity.
- Resolution: Reduce to a single Accountable participant.
Notes
- If there is an Accountable and no Responsible, that is acceptable (Accountable is responsible by default).
